I feel like 2022 was not the strongest year for breakthrough sci-fi movies. ,“ I’m having a hard time finding titles I really want to watch. The Absolute Best Sci-Fi Movies Of 2022 So Far Looper. So far, the more fun sci-fi movie of 2022 is Lightyear. The animation is stunning, the story is both depressing and beautiful, the action scenes are tense, and it has some really funny moments! I also love NOPE.Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is a must watch even if you’re not into anime. The Expanse is fantastic space opera with some of the best space combat of all time. It’s also a bit more grounded in its aesthetics and “feels” more like “hard sci fi” than a lot of other visual media, which is cool.

By that i mean the first half is 100% sci-fi and very good sci-fi at that i say. Then, 1/2 way through the tables are completely turned and it's a full blown horror movie and excited very poorly i think. These halves just don't jive for me. It's as if the movie was written/directed by 2 different people or perhaps by one person and then one studio.
